Hannibal looked up as the familiar voice of the driver was heard in the busy kitchen. He turned his head as the man spoke quickly. Urgent news? He parted his lips to ask a question but before he could the man was gone. He shook his head slightly and wondered what was wrong.
----------------- Four hours later -----------------
"Alright, Rylie, cover me for my last hour. You know I have your back when you need it. I gotta go see Kate." he gave the kid a hug and thanked him as he signed out and grabbed his coat. He walked outside put his helmet on and drove off.
----------------- 30 mintes later -----------------
he got to the house and took off his helmet as he parked the bike he walked up to the door and knocked.

Kate heard someone knock then the soft clicking of Annie’s shoes. Annie opened the door to see Hannibal standing there. She’s in the living room Annie said stepping aside letting Hannibal through.
Kate was still sitting in the tan chair, she had moved very little, Annie had brought Kate a glass of orange juice about two hours ago and not one drink had been taken. Kate was no longer crying but you could tell she had been crying not too long ago.
Kate looked up at Hannibal as he walked in to the room but then returned her stare to the table. Kate was in a fading daze that made her seem like an empty shell.
Before Hannibal got the chance to asked what was wrong Kate opened her mouth and spoke in a clam yet shaky voice look next to the phone… Kate’s eyes did not look up at Hannibal as he looked over to the phone. Know what they are? Kate asked as she stood up she did not walk toward Hannibal nor toward any where else for that fact… she just stood there…

"Thanks..." he spoke in very soft tones as Annie opened the door. Their was a look on her face that caused him to worry. He didn't know what was wrong and all he ehard was that the news was urgent... It had been a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach ever since Ruben had come to speak to him at work this morning. He walked in and went toward the living room where he saw Kate sitting in the chair. It was easily noticed that she had recently been crying and he bit the inside of his lip, worrying slightly.
Lips parted to speak, but she told him to look beside the phone before he could even ask what was wrong. He swallowed and dropped his eyes to look beside the phone. It took him a second to think of what those were... then it dawned on him. Pregnancy tests. His eyes gave her a very shocked gaze as he looked up to her. "Umm... Pregnancy tests?" he asked with a hollowed gaze. He knew she wouldn't have called this to his attention if they were negative... He watched as she stood, and he stood as well, not feeling as if he was able to bend his knees to sit down anyway.

Kate watched him for a minute then said both positive… her words trailed off.
Hesitantly Kate walked over toward Hannibal. Kate locked eyes with him and simply said, there was no daze in her voice this time I’m not ready for a baby, Hannibal… Kate figured that Hannibal wasn’t either by the look on his face. Kate stood there waiting for Hannibal to say the same thing no one at this age was ready for a baby.

Hannibal's lips parted to speak, but no words came from his mouth. His tongue ran over his lips nervously as he closed his mouth, his eyes still gazing at the tests, almsot in horro. "I'm nineteen years old..." He mumered, thinking to himself more then he was speaking to her. He wasn't ready to call himself a father. He was still an uncontrlable kid himself. Besides, who would want a father that is involved with drugs? What a good role model, eh? No, I don't even think so. "Are you sure they are correct?" he paused, his lips parted to let a breath escape him. He wanted to think that they were wrong, but everyone took freshman health and everyone learned that they are not wrong unless it's a false negative... He watched her as she got up and came closer, but he didn't move from his space. It was as if his legs were unmoveable and if he tried he'd just fall.
"I'm so sorry." he said quietly, knowing that it wasn't entirely his fault, but he felt the deep need to admit to having a major role in this outcome. Which of course he did. It takes two, and one night of passion. He hid his face in his hands. He didn't know whether he was scared or just nervous. He didn't want to be a father, not now, and he didn't plan on it later. "What are we going to do with it?"

Kate did not know what to say to him, so Kate said the only thing she was sure she knew Don’t be sorry you did not cause this all on your own… Kate reached up to Hannibal and took a hold of his hands pulling them away from his face. Kate wanted to cry but she couldn’t, and there was no way in hell that Kate was let Hannibal blame just him self. Kate answered his second question with a clam voice I don’t know… Kate paused Adoption maybe? her words ended in a questioning kind of tone. Kate still held Hannibal’s hands within her own both warm, but hers shook a little.

"I know, but it was my fault just as much as yours... if not more." tones were quiet as he spoke, his face still covered by his hands, but she pulled them away from his features, revealing his worried eyes. Hannibal wanted to stay calm, but he was worried. He didn't want this to be happening because he didn't feel mature enough to go through having a child. He listened to her calm words, and kept his hands in her and he could feel them shaking as she answered the question. A soft sigh left Hannibal's lungs as he thought about her answer. "I don't really want to have to raise it... but adopting it out seems kind of cruel... It will never know it's parents..." his tones were calm, but slightly uneasy. He didn't like the thought of the child not knowing it's parents, but then again he really didn't think they could handle a child -- Well, together they could, but he didn't think he could.

Kate did not know what to say at his last words so all she did was let go of his hands and softly wrapped her arms around him resting her head on his shoulder. To Kate what Hannibal said sounded very irresponsible and completely selfish. Hannibal did not want a baby but yet he did not want to give it up either. ‘I don't really want to have to raise it... but adopting it out seems kind of cruel’.Kate reframed from saying what she thought about his statement, but then she also knew in the back of her that just because they were both “adults” by law they both still children themselves and are not ready for this. Hannibal might have though adoption was cruel but which one was worse? Having an adopted family who would be able to properly care and love the baby although it would never know who Kate or Hannibal was, or two immature birth parents who probably did not know how to care for a baby? Love is the easy part of having a baby but a baby can not survive on love alone. Then what do we do?... Kate asked it wasn’t meant to be said aloud but now that is was out where was nothing she could do.

He wasn't really thinking of how selfish that had sounded; he was just thinking how horrible it would be to live a life where you had grown up in a false world. He knew a kid that was adopted. He was troubled by the fact that his adopted parents had lied to him for 16 years. He felt her let go of his hands and thought that she was gonna go back to sit down, but she wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his shoulder, not letting any words escape her lips. "I don't know... I shouldn't think about it. I know it wouldn't be good for us to take care of it..." he said quietly, letting his head lean against hers as he rubbed his hands up her back in a comforting gesture. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he pulled back a little and looked at her, a gentle hand stroking her features. "In the end though, I think it's what you wanna do. I mean, you have to go through all this..." he said quietly.

Kate looked at him as he pulled back little to look at her. In the end though, I think it's what you wanna do. I mean, you have to go through all this..." Kate though about what he said, but she had no idea what she wanted to do.
Annie stood in the doorway and listened to everything Kate and Hannibal said then when she heard Hannibal that what it was pretty much Kate’s choice she couldn’t let Kate just let the baby go.
Out of line Annie spoke up Miss Kate, if it helps any I can help you care for the infant when it is born if you decide to keep it. Annie would try anything to keep the Payne blood line together.

Hannibal's eyes turned up to glance at Annie as she spoke, offering to help take care of the newborn if they decided to keep it. He looked back to Kate, his eyes wondering. Then back up to Annie, his eyes questioning, but had a somewhat gentle look to them that showed he didn't mind her offer. "I would be safe to assume you've had experience with children before?" he asked, guessing that she had probably been with the family for quite some time, possibly even many years before Kate was born. As Annie answered his question, eyes fell back to the lovely girl in front of him. He kept her cold hands close as his lips parted to speak. "What if she helps?" he asked quietly, the selfish thought from earlier still lurking in the back of his mind.

Annie answered Hannibal’s question Yes sir, I have six grown children of my own plus I raised Miss Kate’s mother and Miss kate.
Kate looked up locking eyes with Hannibal as he ask What if she helps? Kate waited a minute before answering him So you want to keep it? Kate asked kind of surprised.

Wow, he hadn't been expecting her to have been with the family that long, but hey, the more experienced the safer he would feel with her around his -- their child. He looked back at her as she answered his question with a question of her own and a very surprised tone that he actually sort of wanted to keep it. He looked at their hands, keeping their fingers laced together as he kind of swung them at their sides. "Aside from being a little freaked out, I guess I am kind of happy... you know? I've never had any siblings or cousins to grow up around, let alone a child of my own..." he said as his eyes fell to the ground. Still, he felt that it should be mainly her choice, and he'd stand beside her if she decided she wasn't ready. "Don't let my opinion change yours though... Like I said, I don't have to go through any of the physical changes that you will... And I will stand beside what ever choice you make." he said as he pulled her into a hug again and let his arms fall around her figure. She didn't feel any different as he hugged her, but he knew that would change.

Kate watched him as he answered her… She didn’t know what to say again but when he swung their hands down to their sides and said that he was kind of happy… Kate gave a weak smile she was glad he was happy but she still did not know if she could go through.
As Hannibal started to speak again of his opinion change hers Kate looked away kind of ashamed that something like this would happen to them but Kate listened to every word he said. As Hannibal ended and pulled her into a hug Kate ran her hands up around his shoulders still unsure of what she wanted to do Let me think about it. Kate voice was unsure.

"I understand... This can't be easy." he said in soft tones as he felt her hands run up and around his shoulders. He kept his arms around her and gently toyed with the tips of her long black locks. "I love you, and I'm sorry you have to deal with this..." he said quietly as he looked at Kate, and kissed her lips very gently. "You want to sit down?" he asked as he looked at her again. He didn't know what to say now to her as his feelings were tied into knots. He felt horrible that she had to go through all this, but then again an uncertain feeling of joy had grown inside of him. He didn't know what to say or what to do.
