The Waiting Room. What a horrible place. He couldn’t even count how many times he’d been in a hospital since he’d met Kate. He thought he had his own issues when it came to needing medical attention, but nah, not compared to her. It seemed she only did things that lead her into the hospital. Everything she did she got hurt in some way. Now, he did understand that some things were not her fault, but she got involved with the wrong people and they were usually bigger and more violent then she was. As was seen with Allen, he had literally beaten her to a pulp, until her body was unable to defend itself. Yet, something kept him waiting. Almost five hours he’d been waiting, with no intension to leave. He watched people come in and wait for an hour then leave. He counted a total of seven pregnant mothers, nine injured children, and two elderly couples come through in the long hours that he’s sat here. His eyes almost closed as boredom threatened to put him to sleep. His chin was cupped in his hand, and his fingers tapped idly on his lips. Hannibal didn’t want to sleep but knew it was coming and would eventually win the battle. He liked sleep, but wanted to know Kate’s condition so he didn’t have to wonder about it. He had a freak imagination, and he could scare the shit out of himself if he thought too much.
He looked up to find a man heading toward him, and Hannibal was up to his feet. He’d been sitting there rather lifelessly and then faster then the blink of an eye he was up and walking toward the man. He listened to the words that the doctor spoke of, and watched his eyes fall toward the clipboard as he spoke of not being able to remember all of her injuries. He listened to the seemingly short list that the man listed off, but the last part confused him a bit. Babies? Conner had raped her not even a week ago and they spoke of her having multiple embryos already? That didn’t make any sense to him and the longer he thought about it, the less it seemed to fit. He watched the man as he still pondered the words from earlier, but paid a respectful amount of attention to the doctor as he spoke of being shocked that Kate was still alive… This wasn’t too far out of character for Kate actually. She’s lived through some brutal times, but this was by far the worst of them all. Or, the worst of them that he’s known of. He didn’t know what had happened that year they were apart… She could have been in a situation like this before, but he didn’t think so.
Again he spoke of the ‘babies’. What the hell was that? There couldn’t possible be anything yet. It was much too soon to be making such detailed predictions as to call them babies… and what was that? Twins or something? He silently hoped they died… Children by Conner or some unknown man couldn’t be good, but she had said she hadn’t slept with anyone for the time they were apart. She made a healthy decision and abstained from sex, while Hannibal—just didn’t make that same choice. He listened as the man spoke of her being in such a critical condition that they had to keep her restrained so she didn’t get up. He rested his hand over his mouth to hide the small smile that threatened to pull across his lips. He was truly worried about her, and knew he should be since he’d been a reason she went there, but he couldn’t help but know that was Kate. No matter how badly she was hurt she was always ready for more. He couldn’t help but envy her mental and physical stubbornness. She was a fighter, and a damn good one at that. There was no other way to describe Kate. He hid a shocked expression as he was given the last piece of the puzzle. About one and a half weeks in their stages of development… That would be just about the time- His hand was removed from his mouth to run his long fingers through his thick brown locks. That would be just about the time they’d escaped from the roof top and made it to her mansion… Just about the time they had another ‘intimate moment’ after such a long period of separation. Everything made sense now, and he shoved his left hand into his pocket to keep it still. He didn’t know if he wanted children again. Yes, he’d loved Tristian a lot, but his death had caused so much pain for the two of them. Especially for Kate since she’d spent more time with the son then Hannibal had. Teeth bit the inside of his lip and then parted to speak but he was cut off by words that he hadn’t wanted to hear. He watched the man disappear in the hallways and Hannibal’s dark eyes made their way to the woman sitting quietly at the desk, just typing away. He made his way over and asked for a contact form. She handed him one on a clipboard as well as a pen. He filled it out and left it to her.
----------------------------Six days later------------------------------
Hannibal was notified of Kate’s condition and he was told that he was allowed to visit her. When he closed the phone he didn’t grab his keys and rush off to the hospital like he might have done on a normal day. Instead he just walked back inside the heavy wooden doors of the church. His face was emotionless and there was nothing to be seen in those dark eyes of his. He disappeared down a long corridor dressed with candles and red carpet. The walls were a cool cream shade and there were few lights. As he walked by, the breeze of his paced steps made the flame on the candle flicker and he walked back into the room to continue speaking with the father of the church.
----------------------------Three days later------------------------------
It wasn’t that he was avoiding the fact that he was allowed to see her, he just didn’t know what he’d say to her. Yesterday he’d sent flowers to her hospital room as an apology for not being there yet but the note that came with them had been written by another hand so that he didn’t loose the balance that he had with his emotions at this current moment. He was calm, and he wasn’t thinking that someone was out to get him. He was just collected and felt relaxed for the first time in a very long time. He hadn’t had any drugs since the day he was saved from himself on the rooftop, and this was only because he didn’t have his usually drug dealers and he didn’t have anyone to drink with so he hadn’t been at the bar. He smoked occasionally, but that was it, and he’d almost slipped from that habit as well. Bumming a light from people was awkward since he wasn’t usually that type of person. So recently, he’d just been going without.
He walked calmly down the hall of the hospital, dressed in a black long sleeved shirt with a sleeves jacket over top. His pants fit his long legs comfortably and boots fit over his feet. His hands were tucked into the pockets of his jeans, and his dark eyes were down at the floor. He knew where he was going, but lacked a reason as to why. He didn’t know what he’d say, or if she would even want to talk to him after knowing what he’d said to her before he left. Hannibal almost expected Kate not to even let him speak to her. He stopped before the door, but out of the way of the window as to not let Kate see him. He pondered the idea of going in and almost turned back, but he removed a hand from his pocket and placed it on the glass for a brief minute before he repeated the action. He doubled it, knocking softly against the glass but it was loud enough for her to hear since the room seemed quiet. His eyes still were turned to the ground for a long moment before he looked up, and into the room through the small, clear glass window. He stood silently and just waited to hear her say to go away...

Kate had gotten the flowers Hannibal had sent but did not read the note. The nurse had offered to read it to her but Kate ordered her out of the room, the doctor would not let Kate read it herself because that would mean they would have to undo one of her arm restrains and given Kate’s history of walking out of hospitals they could not give her the chance to run this time.
For three days Kate either slept, stared at the wall or planned a way to get out of these damn restrains. She did not allow herself to think about Hannibal… nothing at all about him crossed her mind, Kate did this because the more she thought about him the more she wanted to hit him and the more she was starting to strongly dislike him. But without realizing it Kate had been good to her word from that day on the roof of the tall building that Hannibal had thrown his father from, she told Hannibal that she would give up everything she had just for him… including her own life.
The doctor’s had told Kate about the babies she was carrying and the time frame of them, they had also said that it is was probably a good chance that she would lose one or both of them. Truthfully right now Kate did not care if they were Hannibal’s or not and nor did she care that they might die, that was kind of the point of provoking the crew to keep kicking her and beating the hell out of her. Weather or not Hannibal knew about them Kate did not know.
Kate heard a soft knocking at the door slowly she looked from the blank wall toward the window in the door just in time to see Hannibal standing there, Kate blinked once then looked slowly back toward the wall; nothing… no sounds came from her, if he wanted to come in then so be it… if not well then whatever…

His heart beat strongly within his chest as he dropped his hand from the window. He looked away from it, allowing his eyes to fall to the ground again. He didn't want to look at her eyes if she turned to see who was at the door, so he kept his eyes down at the floor where he knew nothing would jump out at him. Not saying that he thought Kate might lunge toward him and kill him, since he knew she was restrained, but he just didn't want to look at those eyes. He knew not what she was feeling right now, and guessed that since silence followed his knock, she didn't really care for any company, especially if it was him. He decided to walk in the room anyway.
Maybe that was a dumb decision, but he was going to take his chances anyway. "How are feeling? The doctor said you've come along way since you first arrived...." there was a soft tone to his voice, a tone that made him sound submissive. As if he was a dog acknowledging that his owner was stronger then him. This was a tad out of character for Hannibal because he was extremely independent and hated bowing down to people, but he didn't want to over step his limits within the small confines of this room. Hannibal really sucked at making small talk, especially when he was afraid to even look at people. He kept his distance, and that distance was close to the door incase she wanted him out. He didn't mention anything about anything that he knew, because he didn't want to say anything to make her angry. That was the last thing she needed was to be made angry.

Kate heard the door open and the soft footsteps of boots, but Kate had no intension of looking his way. Her skin was still very discolored and a little bit of swelling still left a mark. The restrains on her arms and body stopped her from moving and the IV in her arm was driving her in fucking sane. Right away she heard Hannibal’s voice asking her how she was feeling she was feeling a lot right now… now that she started to think about him again; his words echoed in her mind…
It was a long few minutes before Kate’s lips separated to speak… her rough voice was almost heartless Does it look like I care what the damn doctor says. being restrained for over a week was a bad idea for the doctor… it was also a bad idea to start shit with Kate as well. Kate’s body was filled with stitches inside and out. It was probably a good thing no one could see the part of her body that was covered because they would be horrified at what they saw… the disordered ribs… hundreds of stitches and cut wounds from when they cut her open, discolored skin, all of which was pretty much turning Kate’s body into ugly scars of battle.
Not only the flowers that Hannibal had sent to her were in the room but also two huge flower carts of red roses and lilies lined the wall next to the stand that Hannibal’s flower were on… none of them were from Hannibal, a note had also came with them, but it did not get read just as Hannibal's not gotten read...

The silence seemed to last forever as it usually did. He hated when people were silent around him. He'd rather be screamed at until his started to bleed. It was a better sign for him to see someone angry then to be forced to wonder. What was she thinking? Why didn't she speak to him? What did she feel about him? There were no signs that told him he should leave, yet there was nothing that said she wanted him to stay. He'd like to have her tell him to leave or to stay instead of leaving him to make the choice. He feared he'd make the wrong one and she'd never speak to him again, or if he made the right one, something terrible would happen between them. In his mind, this was a loosing situation from either side and it couldn't be avoided now that he was here.
He wasn't fazed by her heartless sounding tone. It was something he'd heard many times before and there came a point when sounds didn't scare someone any longer. He wasn't afraid of her words, but still in the back of his mind lurked a fear. A fear of her actions. Although he knew she was unable to even get the IV from her arm, he knew what she was capable of and that was terrifying really. "I was just asking how you were feeling- I didn't mean to hit a rough spot..." the male said slowly, forming his words carefully as to not make her any angrier then she already seemed. So, touching the subject anywhere near involving a doctor was off limits for now and probably forever. He didn't want to know what ran through her mind right now.
He noticed the flowers, but did not speak about them. He didn't know who they were from, and didn't think he should ask. He didn't want to go near another rough spot. Silence overcame the male again and his eyes didn't rise from the floor. They just stayed there as to keep himself calm and focused. He didn't want to look nervous, or freaked out by seeing her in the stage of healing that she was in. He knew just by seeing her face that she hadn't healed much. She looked better then she did that night, but that was obvious.

Kate did not hesitate to speak this time her words quoted his from a week and some odd days ago “I don’t give a fuck…” Kate spoke away from Hannibal still looking at the bare wall; after a minute Kate slowly and somewhat painfully moved her neck and head to look over toward Hannibal… not look at Hannibal just toward him, the side of her face that had been hidden while she was looking away was now reveled the whole left side of her face was a good five to six shades darker than her normal skin color and her eyes that had been swollen shut was opening only a little over half way still. Once Kate held her head still steady toward the door that Hannibal stood in front of she spoke again roughly If you don’t give a fuck then why are you here? Is it for guilt? Or just pity? Heh. I do not even know why I am asking you these you probably do not even know why yourself. Kate seemed pissed but her expression stayed unusually calm.
Ooc: sorry so short

Teeth tortured the flesh on the inside of his lip as she quoted the familiar words. The words he'd said shortly before leaving the room and leaving the house. Eyes remained on the floor, not daring to look up still. He wasn't a very brave person if this wasn't already obvious to a blind man and when Kate was mad, or even slightly annoyed he wasn't brave enough to face her wrath. She knew this was true about him, and it was obvious to anyone that could see him standing here right now or has seen him in previous times. Even when he stood atop the roof not too long before this day, he was scared out of his mind and that's what drove him to do it. Fear, anger, drugs and some more less important things that built up over time. He was unstable, but not near as bad off as Kate was with her anger management and when it came to dealing with 'the beast inside herself' as she had once called it.
"You and I know both know damn well that I give a fuck. I didn't want to see you waste away before my eyes, and knowing that I couldn't do anything to help you pissed me off..." he spoke in soft tones, keeping his hands firmly in his pockets and his eyes locked on the ground before him. He didn't raise his voice any higher then his calmest possible tones. They had an edge to them because they both knew that he cared about her more then anything else in his entire world, but she seemed to think that he meant what he said. He may have meant it in that moment, but it didn't last long. He loved her dearly, and would fall again without her. Her words were louder, showing that she'd at least turned toward him a bit, giving her room for her voice to project out and be heard.

Kate listened but did not care really what he said… Kate parted her lips again and spoke she was now looking right at Hannibal she voice was calm, no hint of expression lingered or twisted itself within her words… it was as blank as the white wall Kate had been staring at Leave Hannibal… leave and don’t come back… take everything I gave you and do something worth while with your life. Kate’s look did not flaw from his figure. It was almost like Kate no longer loved Hannibal…a l m o s t …
Kate got forgotten about her shoulder and collar bone being broken and pinned back together… Kate curled her fingers and formed a fist with her hands; suddenly Kate jerked her arms against the restrains. A very sharp pain shot through Kate’s body the broken bones screamed at her and the wounds she bared forced her to wince in extreme pain in her shoulder, chest and arm. the restrain buckles raddled a little bit the one was coming loose but there was no way in hell Kate was gonna tell anyone about it, if she took get it completely undone then she would be able to undo the other restrains.

Ouch! Way to kill his heart. Her words finally drew his eyes up from the floor. There was no anger in her voice, but just a dull, soulless sound that left her lips in the form of words. Cold words that would never be forgotten by the male that stood in front of the door. Leave? She actually wanted him to leave and be done with her? He almost felt as though she was banishing him. Leave and don't return... She told him to take everything with him and make his life worth while. What the hell was worth while after hearing something like that? When you can come up with something, give him a call... He'll be waiting to hear it. "Kate--" his words were very soft, so soft that they were almost unheard, showing that he believed she'd said it, but still showing that he didn't want to leave. He didn't know what he'd do with himself... Was he just supposed to pretend he didn't love her anymore? Hannibal couldn't do that, and it was one of those obvious things about him.
The male turned away from her a bit with a very hesitant step. His eyes fell back to the ground again and his hand was removed from his pocket. It shook slightly as he reached out for the handle of the door. His fingers graced the smooth metal and he felt sick to his stomach with worry. What was he to do? He didn't want to leave, but she told him he needed too. He wanted to do what would make her happy, but he wasn't happy with this choice. He wanted to be happy too, but to make Kate happy he couldn't be. Without warning she pulled at the restraints that bound her to the bed and the sickening moan of her broken bones made Hannibal cringe. It was possibly one of the worst sounds he'd ever heard and it tied his stomach into knots. Who did that? What kind of person would put themselves through that kind of pain to escape a place that's supposed to help you heal? He didn't know, but sometimes he wondered if Kate was human.

Kate looked back toward Hannibal I said leave! Kate said a bit louder her eyes were lined with tears but weather they were from the pain in her shoulder or from the hurt in her heart at hearing herself tell him to leave Kate was not going to let anyone know… don’t come back Kate whispered as Hannibal walked out of the room the door shut slowly on its own…
-nine days later-
two days after Kate told Hannibal to leave she miscarried one of the twins only the strongest of the two remained alive. Kate was not at all fazed by losing it, and each day she worked on getting the restrain undone.
Seventh day Kate some how got loose and got out of the hospital without being cot… how she did that no one knows… On the eighth day the Head line in the news paper read Kate Payne: the escape artist it told of a high reward for any information on the where abouts of Kate and said that she remains on the run she could die, a picture of Kate was also in the paper. The article contained a list of Kate’s injuries…
The police had reached her house and grounds looking for her… they found that the car with all of the pictures of Tristian on it was gone and the house keys were left on the table in the kitchen… all of the signs that the house was abandoned. The tiger had been taken away and put down because it attacked one of the officers. If Kate was going to die there was only one place that she was going to go… back home to the grave of her parents and son…
-day ten-
Kate slowly pulled off the ramp of the her plane and drove weakly through the town her eyes heavy and her body was weak… slowly she made her way toward the graveyard, to visit the familiar graves… she parted the picture covered car and painfully she got out and made her way toward the three graves…the pain was to intense that tears rolled down her face… she knew she had all of England looking for her but she did not care… Kate was no were near ready to be doing this… detouring the law, sneaking out of the country driving a car, flying… it was just to much way to soon…her body only just began to heal. Carrying in her hand Kate had three lilies… one by painful one Kate laid one on each grave then walked back to the car… she leaned against the side of the car and slowly sat down on the ground, still leaning heavily against the car door… Kate doubted that anyone knew were she was going to die if she indeed die… maybe one person… and who the hell knew where he was right now… so this was it… this was the way Kate was going to end… here alone leaning against a car that brought her much heartache staring at her family’s graves…
During the flight here Kate’s wound on her stomach had been reopened and was bleeding at a good pace… not enough to kill her soon but bleeding enough that it would not be able to clot by itself and would continue to bleed until she was dead… which at the rate Kate was pushing herself it could be in a day or two… slowly Kate leaned to the side and laid down on the ground still next to the car her eyes slowly closed… and she slept waiting for her body to give out for good… with no Hannibal… no family life was not worth living anymore… no matter how strong she was and no matter how compelling or loving or everything she was… Kate had died that day Hannibal left the room at her command… staying with Kate was only holding him back… driving him to drugs… driving him insane… and only hurting her self…
-- 13 months later --
that day so long ago someone had came along and saved Kate... taking her to the Hospital where she had been taken care of... she had made a full recovery but never heard from hannibal... well no surprize there he did not know where she was and did not know how to contact her. her wounds had left her with a huge amount of scars.
During this time kate had a relationship with one guy who was sweet and caring until him and kate got into a fight about her getting sick all over his car while she had morning sickness... well that was the end of that guy, it lasted a whole two months his name was Mitch. The second guy named Robert was a jerk when he was around his freinds but loving and sweet toward kate while they were at her house, but when she found out that he was still sleeping with his ex girlfriend she beat the hell out of him and kicked his ass to the street, their time had only lasted a month. Rayn was the thrid guy she dated he was almost purfect... he helped her with everything...he got her breakfast in bed and cleaned everyday weather or not it was needed which it was not expect a few days when kate had let him have a party at her place... he even dusted the place for her... but after two months together he asked her to marry him but Kate still had strong feelings for hannibal and could not marry Rayn... so they broke off in a nice way and are still friendsafter they dated for another 11 months. Through all three of these guys kate never once slept with any of them... but she did kiss and hug Rayn a whole lot more than she did hannibal... she had some strong feelings for Rayn but the advanaced feeling that Her and hannibal had kept holding her back.
Around seven months along kate had went into premature labor and gave birth to a little boy only weighting 3 pounds and 16 inches long... She named him Kaleb Casry, he looked more like Hannibal then his brother did... Tristian had looked more like Kateat first then slowly began to have the combinion of both Hannibal's and kate's looks. Kaleb was not as loud either... in fact Kaleb cried very little.
Kate had lived in a apartment and stayied inside unless she had to get food or stuff for Kaleb. Kaleb's eyes were odd colored one a light brown and the other as blue as Tristian's were. Rayn had benn there for kate the whole time helping out with Kaleb... Ryan had once told kate that it was almost Like Kaleb was his but kate told him to never say that again...
-14 months scents they last seen each other-
kate had finaly came back to England... weather or not Hannibal was still here kate did not know... with the card she had given him he could have done anything he wanted. Kate pulled slowly off the ramp of her new plane the seven and a half month old baby boy sleeping in the back seat strapped stuggly into his car sea, the radio was off and the only sounds there the engine of the pitch black hummer that she now drove. Kate was so careful driving now that it was not funny... she worried everytime she took Kaleb outside that something would happen to cause her to lose him like she had lose his brother.
after a half hour of driving toward the mansion she use to live in she pulled up to the gate... everything was still nice and pretty but no one still worked there, she would have to hire new staff. she got out and opened the gates then got and in the hummer and drove down the drive way... when Kate pulled up she Got out and got Kaleb out of his car seat without waking him up. She walked to the front door and opened it... everything seemed gloomly as if the house or who ever was in it was depressed...carrying the child she pushed open the door... everything was the same way it was the day she had left, but less lively. Kate stepped further into the house and pushed the door shut.....
