Destiny's own laughter died. She shook her head. Always living in the country, she had never had laws against the owning of animals. SHe stood from her spot petting Gunner and walked to Cobalt. She once again burried her head in his mane, the horse arched his neck and twisted around to nuzzle her shoulder. "Easy boy." She whispered, rubbing his neck, all she wanted was for the stallion to be ok, and live his talented life to the fullest. Gathering herself before she squared her shoulders and turned to Brandon. "Please, let me put an ad on the computer. I'll keep him hidden until he's..." She paused, nearly chocking on the next word. "Sold." She turned back to Cobalt so she wouldn't break down infront of the man who had so graciously helped her. She wrapped her arms around the majestic animals thick neck. "God, I'll miss you." She said quietly. Reaching up, she stroked his face, and combed her fingures through his long forelock.

Brandon shook his head not really answering her but now he would have no coffee unless he went and bought it from the gas station. Brandon walked back into the house and into the kitchen grabbing a towel, the broom and dust pan…
A few minutes later Brandon had the glass all cleaned up… he walked back into his room and pulling a clean shirt out of his dresser. He pulled it over his head and pushed his arms through the sleeves.
As he walked back out into the living room he spoke calmly I’m sorry But your horse can not stay here in town. You are going to have to take him back to where ever he came from. The people next door will some how find out that he is here and seeming that my back yard is only a couple of yards big and no fence anywhere I will get a fine of any where between 1000 dollars and 15000 dollars…
Brandon grabbed his keys and his wallet. I got to go to work if you want to stay here you can I have a computer in the back it has internet you can use. Then he walked out the door after grabbing his light brown full body suit that had blackish stains on it… it was the suit of a mechanic. Just before he shut the door he turned and looked back at destiny I’ll be back around 3 then he walked out the door and headed to the car repair shop about ten miles away on the other side of town.

Hell no, she wasn't putting Cobalt back where the bastard of a man Wesley could find him. She untied the stallion swiftly gazing around the back yard, maybe a couple miles away was an fenced feild. Smiling to herself, she could tell the three acer lot was either abandoned or vacant. She swung onto the stallion and hudged him into an entergetic canter, the stallion rounded beneath her. She erged him into a gallop, kneeding her hands along his neck. Within minutes, the fence was approaching them, she leaned back, and counted. "One, Two Three, and, Up!" She shouted, the talented jumper rose high and soared over the five foot fence with ease. They landed easily, and she woahed him to a halt, and slid off. "Estancia Puesta." Destiny told the spanish horse, whom had been raised in Spain.
She had to forget about him. Turning, she ran, she sprinted through the fence, and dashed back to the house, she returned puffing heavily. Slowly, she slipped into the Computer room. Slipping into the chair, she brought up the internet. Slowly she typed up dreamhorse, and set to work on the ad. Confident that 35,000 was a good price for the fantastic stallion, she clicked add. The ad was posted with a fresh yellow highlighted new. Tears burned her eyes as she looked at the gorgeous photo of the grand prix jumper that she'd taken for her photobucket account. The picture was of the two leaping over a six foot swedish oxer. And below, Destiny beaming and kissing her horse holding the Grand Champion ribbon.
WIthout turning off the computer, or even exiting out of the ad, she raced to the room she had stayed in, slammed the door closed and dived onto the bed, letting all those long awaited tears fall.

Destiny woke almost an hour later, yet she didn't come out, hours after she was awake, she sat in the darkest corner of the room, forehead on her knees, tears dampening what was left of her shredded jeans. She muffled her sobs the best she could. Suddenly, the cell in her pocket rang. She calmed herself quickley, picking it up, she flipped it open. "Hello.." She asked. "Yes. I'm calling about your stallion Cobalt Night." The color drained from her face. " I see." Destiny replied in a chocked voice. It was barley loud enough for Brandon to here. "My son is looking for a pleasure horse, and his temperment sounds perfect." She moved the phone as a sigh of reliefe escaped her vocals. "I'm sorry mam, but I'm looking for a serious competition home for Cobalt." Destiny said. "I understand,"the woman said. "Thank you anyway." The lady said. "Of course." Destiny said. Shut the phone, and threw it down. Just because he wasn't sold now, didn't mean he was off the market. The tears came back, and she resumed crying.

Destiny didn't answer, she did stand. She didn't glance at him as she moved through the door and jogged back to the feild, again, breathing heavily when she arrived. The stallion's whinny ecohed in her thoughts as he bolted toward her with such power. Destiny smiled, all worries flooding away. She hugged the animal strongly, kissing his muzzle.

Brandon watched her run out of the house... he sat down and ate his dinner then covered the rest with something and he let gunner out hooking the chain to his collar. he waited a long while to see if she would come back... when she did not he got in the shower and went into his room and fell asleep.

She fell into a sleep on the horse's side, but the peace didn't last long. The click of a gun moving into c.ocked mode awoke the sleeping girl. Her eyes flew open, him. Wesley pointed the gun toward the laying horse, when Destiny stood as quick as possible, the startled horse bolted upright. ”No.. No, No, No. Wesley, please no!” Destiny screamed, pressing her body against the frightened animal behind her. Wesley gave her the sliest smile, and shot. Once satisfied his job was done, he walked back into the trees. And disappeared into the night. The gunshot was clear as day, and rang through the air, followed by Destiny's scream. That wasn't at her. But it had struck the stallion she guarded, and grazed her left shoulder. The stallion's knees buckled beneath him, and he collapsed at Destiny's feet. Destiny closed her eyes as she fell to her own knees, not out of physical pain, but mental. The stallion flattened in the grass, straining his neck, bleeding shoulder flexing. Destiny's pressed her hands against the wound, desperet to stop the bleeding, not even gazing once at her own injured shoulder. ”Come on Cobalt, please, please.” She begged the stallion. ”This can't be happening, how did he find me?” She cried to herself. She knew someone would come at the sound of the gun shot, so she crawled, suddenly noticing her stinging shoulder, she clutched it with a cry through clenched teeth. Slowly, she lifted Cobalt's head, and rested it in her lap, stroking his cheek, Cobalt closed and opened his eyes slowly. ”Shh, baby, you'll be okay.” Destiny said through tears. ”I promise.”

And opened the front door to let gunner in… As soon as the chain was off instead of going back into the house gunner took off running down the road Shit! GUNNER! Destiny stroked Cobalt's cheek. His head lifted weakly when the German Shepard bounded to her. Destiny glanced at the dog. "Gunner?!" She gasped in surprise. Then she heard Brandon's shouts. "God Gunner, I love you, but why do you bring Brandon along with you?" Destiny asked, looking over her shoulder. Brandon was yelling for the canine, yet Gunner seemed to be ignoring him. Destiny, stopped stroking her horse, and touched her bleeding shoulder, wincing. From dirt and dust, her wounds had started to act up again. And pain seered through her, but she didn't cry, not yell, not scream. Cobalt had closed his eyes, but the acasional twitch of skin signaled he was still alive, but barley.

Destiny gently positioned the horse's head on the ground, then stood. Still clutching her arm. "He happened...." Destiny muttered, tears filling her eyes in a sudden movement. Her mind whirled, her life was falling to pieces, broken up, tossed in a jar and shaken. She'd lost everything, her home, her six dogs, one cat, seven horses, and now maybe even Cobalt, her last and only joy in her life. She fell apart. Brandon was several inches taller then her, but she cried, leaning against him. "He can't die!"

brandon stopped as he went to wrap his arms around her as she leaned against him... Let me look at him... He said grabbing her sides softly and stepping around her... as he looked at the wound he could tell that it was to close to the horses heart and by the way the horse was breathing he could also tell that the bolt hit the horse's lung... he was slowly drowning... Brandon closed his eyes... there was nothing that he could do to help the horse but help him pass faster... He is drowning... in his own blood the wound hit his lungs. brandon said looking up at destiny There is nothing we can do but let him die or help him pass faster. He stood up and walked closer to destiny she seemed as if she was going to break down.

Destiny watched silently as he looked at her horse, his words were a punch to the head. She closed her eyes to block out the diziness. She nearly fell against him. Unlike most, whom wouldn't want to see their best friend die, Destiny's words were," go get your gun, I'm staying with him when he dies.." She said, straightening herself, and kneeling down to pat her beloved stallion. The wind had picked up, sending an icey chill down her back, and all she was wearing was shredded jeans, and a shredded t-shirt, her bloodyly shoulder was injured seriously, but was the least of her concerns currently.
