Michelle moved to this town and was new. She didn't know anyone in the town. She went to a club called Sugar Dance Club. She thought that there was going too be guys there. She was hoping that she would meet some one and have them show her around the town. She missed her old town but she knew that she had to move. She didn't like it much but you know you have to move on with your life.

It was mid afternoon and Hannibal was walking down the street. There was almost nothing to do today, for it was just so hot and rather humid. No one wanted to hang around outside, so they went to their houses, or to friends houses or they went and hung out at the clubs. Hannibal wasn't a drinker, but he loved to dance. He'd met quite a few interesting people at clubs. Some that he'd rather regretted meeting, but some that he'd found to be awesome in so many ways.
His tall and lean figure was dressed in a black skin tight shirt with sleeves rolled to his elbows and a sleeveless leather jacket was worn over top of that, also skin tight and form fitting. Some trip pants fit over his long legs, they were black with with stitching and pockets. He stood tall at 6' even and his pale features were well shaped and his eyes were a mysterious shade of dark brown. He walked into the club and a cute smile dressed his facial features. He saw some familiar faces and other he didn't know. Without a second choice, he was pulled onto the dance floor by a familiar girl. They danced close for a minute, and then he dipped her down, and slowly brought her up again. You could call Hannibal a flirt, but really he was just socializing. It's good to have many friends, right?
The song ended and she waved to him as he let his fingers slip out of his hand and he walked over to the counter. He set himself up on a bar stool and looked over the crowd as a cigarette was placed between his lips. He pulled out a lighter and let the flame tough the end of the 'cancer stick'. He'd been told on many occasions that smoking was going to be the death of him, but it was an addiction. Unless someone dared to step in and stop him from smoking, he wasn't going to.

Kate walked in unsure if she wanted to be here. Kate scanned the crowd on the dance floor but then Kate over looked the bar. A young man cot her eyes, a tall shadowy type of guy lighting up a cigarette. Kate walked up to the guy, smiled and took the cigarette, Forgive me but why waste you life on these things? They only make you mouth taste like a living ash tray. then Kate realized she had just done what she swore she would not do, and that was boss. Without realizing Kate had graded the cigarette too close the lit cherry burning herself when she went to hand the cigarette back to him. Yaa! Damn! Kate dropped the cigarette retracting her hand to her chest holding the burn with the other hand. Kate looked at him. Right now Kate felt so stupid. The one thing she hated the most she was good at, being rude. Kate leaned down to pick up the dropped cigarette and handed it to him. Just then Kate looked up locking eyes with him. Forgive me being rude Kate was amazed at his mysterious eyes. Without justifying what she was about to say Kate said, Your eyes… So mysterious almost like- … There beautiful- Kate for some reason could not unlock her eyes from eyes.

The cigarette was taken after being hung loosely between his lips and a girl spoke, her voice being polite, but making a point that no one ever dared to make. She stepped in to get him to stop smoking and said it would make his mouth taste like a living ash tray. He'd never heard that before, as he'd never been told that, but he supposed it was an interesting concept to at least consider. With a startled yell the girl then dropped the cigarette as she burned herself. He would have reached down and picked it up, but she beat him to it, and handed the cancer stick back. He held it between his index finger and his pointer finger of his left hand and looked over to her.
Forgive me being rude. her innocent voice sounded as their eyes met. Hannibal's eyes being dark and mysterious as hers were sweet and light colored. A small curled smile took over his features as he took a drag from the cigarette and breathed the smoke out, away from her, but never loosing her eyes. They looked at each other for a long moment before she said anything. When she finally spoke she commented on his dark eyes, saying how mysterious they were and that they were like something, but didn't finish the comparison and just said they were beautiful. The curled smile stayed on his face as he never dropped the look they held. Their eyes never straying from the others.
"You have quite beautiful eyes yourself. Hannibal said calmly in a calm voice, lessening any of the possible tension of the moment from their somewhat awkward meeting. The smile remained upon his features, showing Hannibal to be calm and collected, his eyes never leaving hers. “What brings one like you to a place such as this?” he asked still with his calm voice, and complimenting her in the same breath.

Kate watched him a minute or two then finally spoke Thank you. I am here just to get away from things for a while. Beats the hell out of sitting at home. Kate smiled, her eyes still admiring his with a some what of a passion. Kate looked at her watch that clung to her wrist it read 11:26 pm. Kate broke eye contact to call over the bartender Iced water please then she looked back I’m Kate Payne. she held out her hand.
The song that had been playing stopped, most of the couples dancing stopped as well. The D.J. picked up something and spoke into it his loud voice coming out from the speakers the over crowded dance floor cheered and another beat struck up. It seemed more and more couples had danced their way onto the floor. Kate wanted to dance but the floors were way over crowded and if she was to dance she would most likely have to dance right were she stood.

Her eyes never left him as she seemed to be waiting for him to speak, and then she responded to his own words, saying that she was here to just 'get away from things for a while'. He thought better not to ask, and just smiled his curled smile as she said it was much better then sitting home alone. Anyone would agree to that. A party scene was much better then any old house you could be at. Unless however you had company. Then being at your house wasn't bad. He took her hand in his own and shook it with his small disarming smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you Kate. Hannibal Casry." he said, pronouncing his name with a strict french accent. Most people didn't realize his voice had any sort of accent until he spoke his name. It was pronounced with a certain strictness and that was the only way it could be said right.
Hannibal watched her quietly, his dark eyes staying upon her features as she looked onto the dance floor. She seemed interested in it, but looked as though she might have been hesitant. He smiled slightly, and in his disarming voice, spoke to her loud enough to be heard over the music. "Want to dance? There's a less crowded spot over there." he said, nodding over to a spot on the other side of the dance floor. That part of the room was empty, so there would be plenty of room that incase she was claustrophobic she wouldn't be blocked in. Although, if she had a fear like that she shouldn't have been at a nightclub. Anyway, he was just assuming that so he didn't know if she was or not. Either way, he hoped she'd want to dance.

[Kate smiled Lovely name Hannibal and handsome accent Kate’s cheeks blushed a little Hannibal was defiantly a one of a kind. Kate hoped she had pronounced his name correct for while her father what traveling in France she had picked up some french but was still really bad at speaking it especially the accent part of speaking french.
As Kate looked over the dance floor she still feel Hannibal’s eyes on her. Then she was somewhat startled by his sudden speaking. Kate looked at Hannibal just has he nodded over to an almost empty spot on the edge of the dance floor, looking over to see what he was looking at she saw it to. Kate looked back toward Hannibal and smiled Sure. Kate’s voice was cheerful and happy that he asked, other wise she would not have seen the spot.
Kate grabbed Hannibal’s hand and led him over to their dancing spot, just as the song now playing had barely started. Kate’s light brown eyes gave off a glow as the flashing lights above the dance floor waved around, her lightly tanned skin also glowed. Kate was smiling the whole time, this is what she had come here for. /center]

When saying his name her accent hadn't been quite as pronounced as his own, but it was no trouble. It was his last name that commanded the accent more then his first name anyway. He smiled faintly and nodded as she said he had a lovely name and a nice accent. He'd perfected it over the years, always having the accent, but he was able to speak slowly and sound semi-normal. Because if he spoke too fast with his french accent it was hard to understand him, although his words were very pronounced and proper sounding.
He didn't mean to give her an awkward feeling by watching her; it was just something Hannibal did. He was very careful about observing people, for he'd gone through hell in back in these shorts years of his life. He smiled as she said she'd like to dance. That was good. He was in the mood to dance. He took another drag of his cigarette and tapped it out as she took his hand. He followed her as she pulled him over to the somewhat empty spot. It was much better then any other spot on the floor, and the new song had begun just in time.
She was gorgeous in the light. While Hannibal's dark eyes only showed darker in the flashing lights, and he was fully dressed, not excepting his body as it was. He was overly thin, and overly pale, almost ghostly pale in this light, but his features remained soft as he offered her his left hand. He was a left handed leader which made it interesting to dance with him. He was left handed, but wasn’t fairly bad at handling a person with his right hand. He could lead, with his left, and dip you down with his right, making his moves somewhat entertaining as they came at a surprise. His features were lightened by a smile, but his eyes remained darkened by the lights that flashed around them, only leading them to look more mysterious. Fog filled in at their feet as the song cooled to a slower beat giving the two a good chance to warm up to one another's moves before getting a fast paced song.
Hannibal didn't know how excepting Kate was as to take another's hand and trust them to dance with her. He'd danced with people that were overly accepting and right away tried to make their move on him, and he'd danced with people that were at first almost afraid to touch him, but then being as disarming as he was, he took their fears away and by the end of the night, the other hand clung to him like a love to their long lost lover. Either way, he was very accepting of it.

Kate wondered at Hannibal’s open accepting of things. How can he trust so openly? Kate asked herself. Again Kate locked eyes with Hannibal. She waited for a minute or so then finally said You are so trusting of me. I do not think I’ve seen anybody be so openly trusting of people they just meet. Then Kate took his hand left hand in her right she was a bit hesitant to trust him to lead but she was far from being afraid of him, in fact you’d have to be paying very close attention to her to even notice that she hesitated. As their hands touched Kate wanted to reject the touch but firmly kept her hand in place. The slow music gave a somewhat enchanted feeling to the place. Hannibal’s eyes seemed lost yet found at the same time. Their shadowy feeling Gave Kate somewhat of a thrill. Kate outlined Hannibal’s facial features closely she now would never forget his face. His hand was warm and in a way comforting.
Kate broken eyes contact to look around there were fewer couples on the dance floor now that a slow song was in play, though the floor was far from being roomy Kate felt more comfortable that they had some more room to dance. Open trust is kind of a nice change. Kate smiled and locked eyes again. Kate really didn’t want to look away again. She relaxed and allowed Hannibal to lead.

Their eyes met for a moment and she spoke then, saying that she'd never known anyone that was so trusting of someone that they have just met. He pondered that comment for a brief second before a small smile crossed his lightly colored features. "I wouldn't go as far to say that its trust you're seeing. A willingness to have fun and a lack of fear is more like it." He spoke in his pronounced accent. She raised her hand to his and their hands met. There was a slight hesitation as she grabbed his hand, almost as if she would have pulled her hand away. He kept his hand with hers, and looked at her with his dark eyes.
The faint smile didn't leave his features. He wasn't really open to trusting that many people, but he supposed if it soothed her to think that this was trust then let it be so. The slow song was very easy to dance too; one didn't need any skill to dance to these songs. No foot eye coordination was needed to dance, so he just let the two of them move to the beat of the slow song. It was casual and boring really. Hannibal loved the fast paced dance songs. They were fun to dance too and one didn't have to dance so formally, like they were now.

Kate remained relaxed but softly said True. Kate was quiet and remained quite for a long time. The slow song was getting to be boring it was a too slow of a pace. Kate wanted to get moving. She was quickly losing interest in this club. The club doors opened and shut as people went and came more people leaving then coming. Kate looked at the huge clock over the bar’s beer case just as it chimed midnight no big deal. Closing was at two o’ clock am so she still had some time to have fun, if the D.J. would put some good music on.
The song was close to its end when someone walked in and Kate just felt that she had to look for some really odd reason. A tall young man about 19 years old, his hair was darker than midnight and his eyes as hateful as a saw to the side of a one hundred year old oak. Kate gasped and held her breath has she let go of Hannibal’s hands she didn’t move it was like she was paralyzed. Kate spoke in a stricken voice kind of like she was being choked, Jason… Kate faced Hannibal leaned up as if to kiss his cheek I enjoyed meeting you- then took off at a dead sprit toward the club’s back door.
Jason cot Kate running through the back door and took off after her. He was a much faster runner than Kate was. Kate ran as fast and as hard as she could; looking back only to see Jason catching up to she. Tears flooded Kate’s eyes she didn’t want to fight only to be beaten again. Kate screamed Help! Jason cot up easily grabbing Kate’s long hair pulling back on it throwing her down. Jason skidded to a stop and walked over to stand tower over Kate as she trying to get away, again grabbing her hair using it to swing her around Jason made Kate collide with the dumpster wall, bloodying her face and knocking her out. though you could run didn’t you little girl?! Jason yelled at her then he looked up seeing someone he turned and took off running down the rally way disappearing in the darkness. Leaving Kate there for who ever to find.

Oh how the slow songs made him bored. He hated them, but then Kate stood on her tip toes and whispered in his ear that she had enjoyed meeting him and let go of his hands. There was a moment where she'd let go of his hands and just stood there. His dark eyes gazed at her wonderingly and then she took off at a sprint, running as fast as she possible could to get out of the club. A man followed her outside and Hannibal watched quietly for a second before following to go see what was wrong. It took him a minute to find the two of them, and by time he got out there, the man ran to get away and disappeared in the darkness. Hannibal walked up to her limp figure, and looked at her broken face. She was beat up, her face being bloody and bruised badly.
He didn't get a look at the guy or he'd call the police, but instead he called an ambulance. He knelt by Kate's side and looked up into the darkness. Wishing that man had the guts to come back, but no, why would he want to make life easy? He told the man on the phone about the situation and he said that the ambulance would be right over. Hannibal was sure that since the hospital was so close that he could have carried her, but he didn't know how badly she had been beaten and he didn't want to risk hurting her even more. He stayed by her side, not giving the chance for her to be hurt again if he decided to come back for her, although Hannibal knew the guy wouldn't.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Lights and sirens could be heard coming down the street. The ambulance wasn't far off and it would be good to get Kate to the hospital. They could clean her wounds and check to see if she'd been hurt any worse. The vehicle skidded to a stop and three men got out. Two went to the back and opened the doors, briging a stretched and a large medical bag. One questioned Hannibal on what had happened while the two assited Kate, getting her onto the stretcher.

Kate only saw black but she heard Hannibal talking to someone and minutes after she heard sirens. And then two people checking her face and softly feeling around her neck then they put a neck brace around her neck careful to move her as less as possible. Then she they rolled her on her side and Kate felt a cold plastic bar of the stretcher lifting her onto the gurney, and into the ambulance. The guy who assisted Kate in the back asked Hannibal You coming with her? his question was rushed.
The guy slammed the doors shut and continued to assist Kate. He wrapped a rubber ribbon around Kate’s arm and stuck a needle into a vein along her elbow, quickly replacing it with a IV tube. The ambulance driver sped off out of the alley way.
About five minutes later they arrived at the hospital. Doctors awaited outside for Kate ambulance stopped and the doors open the doctors quickly yet gently putted her out and rolled her into the emergence room.
The doctors cleaned up Kate’s face and put nine stitches along the left side of Kate’s face and four more stitches along her bottom right jaw. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- About two hours later a male doctor walked out into the waiting room to see if anyone awaited news on Kate’s condition.

Hannibal answered the questions that the guy asked him and then when he was asked if he was coming he nodded and got into the back, but made sure he was out of the way as they stuck to IV into her arm. Hannibal had to look away as they stuck her with the needle. He got queasy just at the sight of needles. He wasn't bad at getting shots and blood drawn and such, just as long as he closed his eyes and looked away.
The ride to the hospital was quick and he watched through the window as all the cars pulled from the road to make sure the ambulance had a clear pathway. He'd been in ambulances several times, but never going with someone to get help, he was usually the one strapped to the bed, bleeding or broken in some way, shape or form. When they arrived at the hospital Kate was taken off to seek immediate care while Hannibal was left to wait in the waiting room to hear of her status.
Roughly two hours went by before a doctor came out, asking about family for Kate Payne. Hannibal had nearly been asleep. Hospitals were boring and very unappealing to the eyes, seeing people be rushed in and taken out. He'd nearly fallen asleep, but he heard her name and looked up, stretching a bit and walking over to the doctor. "How is she?" Hannibal asked as he looked down to the doctor. He was too tall... He towered over the man.

The doctor watched him get up She has nine stitches along the left side of her face and four more at the bottom of her right jaw. She is pretty bruised up and she has a minor concussion. The doctor paused then picked up where he left. We’re going to keep her over night. She is still out but everything is stable, If you want to see you can go ahead and do so.
Kate slowly opened her eyes; everything she saw was blurred and fuzzy. Her head and face hurt really badly. No one was in the room with her so she closed her eyes. The smell of the room told her where she was. She was at the hospital. Kate didn’t expect anyone to be waiting for her seeming her parents were in Europe.
Kate reached up to the side of her face touching the stitches, wincing as the pain flooding the left side of her face. It was almost enough pain to make her cry.
