Toby let a shrill bark escape his vocal cords. "Yeah, Yeah, I know." Lynn said with a laugh. Cali bolted in and bowled Toby over and the two raced off barking and biting at each other. Dixie loped toward Lynn. " Your the only calm one here beside me. Even Chili is on edge." The old sorrel mare at twenty one was on end and anxious about the new coming animals. Starstruck bucked and plunged, his roan body glinting against the unforgiving sun. Lynn kneeled down and rubbed the Shelty's copper ears. Gaining her standing position, Lynn waited.

A champaign colored ford pulled up, it was hauling a large silver trailer. Many high-pitched winnies escaped its insides, the truck stopped and out hopped Ember. Wasting no timein unloading the babies she ran to the back, to where to door was securely latched. Letting the ramp down she walked in unhooking Love's lead, Ember talked to the filly slowly and gently backing her out.The beaming sun hit her coat, causing it to shine blindingly. Leading her to the side she tied her and then dove back in the trailer. Next was the thoroughbred mix,Fire. He backed out just the same and Love had. Ember tied him next to the filly and once again headed back into the trailer. The last time she entered a high pitched squeel rang through the air, causing the other babies to jump. The whole trailer shook until finally out leaped Valliant. His blood bay coat, shone like fire burning up everything in its path. Valliant threw his finely sculpted head up high, causing his mane to thrash about wildly. As he did franctic circles around Ember he kicked up dust and rocks, finally he calmed down and followed her to the trailer near the other horses. Ember tied himand began to walk toward Lynn. A mind wrenching crack stopped Ember right in her tracks. When she turned around she saw Valliant rearing, then he fell on his back with a thud. He jumped to his feet and took off down the gravel road.

"Great."Lynn grimanced as the colt raced off, she spun on her heel and yanked the lead line from the fence, hooking it to Starstrucks halter, the stallion snorted, she pulled a larriat loose and swung onto the red roan's back. Her heels closed on the Quarter Horse's side and he jumped forward, the colt's strides were no match for the champion stallion's, his neck stretched, forward, set on colt with determination. The animal's shod hooves pounded the gravel road, gaining on Valliant with each leap. The rope snaked forward, landing squarly on the colts neck. "Hold up!" Lynn shouted, without a touch, Starstruck slid to an abrupt stop, pulling Valliant with him.

Valliant thought he was free....untill the rope caught hold of him. It wripped at his neck, pulling his breathe from him. Falling to his back, his legs flailed wildly as he tried to recover his footing. When his feet finally met the ground he began to rear wildly, thrashing his legs out in front of him, he teeth bared he snapped at the stallion, no fear in him what so ever.He pulled back on the rope but it only tightened. When his pulling didn't work he turned and kicked at the stallion, hitting the rope instead of the horse, snapping it in half. The first time he ran it was for fun, this time it was for his life. Valliant leaned back and his haunches and shot forward, letting loose his amazing speed, he was fast for a no good, low down colt. Bay legs propelling him forward, head held low, tail trailing behind him, he veered of into some woods following a narrow trail. It would be difficult for the bulky stallion to follow, still not slowing he raced through the forest stirring up leaves, his sure footing wasn't going to fail him now!

As the rope snapped the stallion plummeted forward with all his strength, the colt veered into the woods, and Star followed strongly, weaving between trees in an easy attempt to catch the colt. The rope had snapped into a good size and flew behind, just in reach. Lynn tangled her hands in Star's sorrel mane and reached forward, hand grasping the rope. "Andiamo Star!Andiamo!" Lynn shouted. The stallion responded with a burst of speed, Lynn closed her fingures around the colt's halter, leaning back, the stallion slowed to a trot, eyes rolling wide. Lynn led the jittery colt. "What a festive start." She breathed as she let the colt loose in a metal pole ring. She looped the chain double to prevent the colt from any chance of escaping. She slid from the sweaty stallion, patting his neck. "That colt. Lynn breathed. "Has got speed, he had Star on a run for his money."

Not even winded from the run,Valliant reared one last time before turning and pulling the way towards the opening in the woods.Reaching the entrance he began to thrash wildly about all the while making his way slowly closer to the trailer. The other babies that had been left wide eyed at the trailer, whinnied in excitment as they saw his wild display.Don't encourage him!Ember hushed. The babies stopped but kept their eyes locked on their trailer mate. Valliant gave a good swift kick hitting Starstruck in the side, once again he turned and bared his teeth.

Starstruck barred his teeth back, and struck a hoove deathly close to the yearlings head. "Star.." Lynn mummbled as she secured the colts gate, she released Star into a farther pasture, then moved back."That was aneventful start."

ooc::No he's in a metal poled ring with a double round chain that prevents him from escaping under any curcumstance.

Valliant ran wildly bucking, around his pen. Shrilly trumpeting his call, the other babies responded with there nickers. They seemed so small next to his greatness and power. Suddenly Valliant dropped to the ground and began rolling as if a rebelious manner saying,HA, I'm dirty what are you gonna do about it? Ember smiled, that colt is full of surprises.

Vallinat hopped up from his mad rolling and stood in place, legs seeming glued to the ground. He turned his attention to the stallion which he could still hear, smell and slightly see. Valliant gave a wild shirek and began bucking wild, to show the stallion that he was 'no' whimp.

The quarter horse reared in a display of dominance, his sorrel mane flying, roan body gleaming like blood in the mid afternoon sky. Lynn shook her head doubtfully and turned back to love, rubbing the filly's ears and at th same time patting Fire.

Valliant shot a vile look in the stallion's direction. Love lowered head to let her new master give her attention. Fire enjoyed her patting, but then without warning his stomach gave a low groan. Then must be getting hungry.Ember smiled.
