Alyss Heart walked into the bar, flashing her fake ID to the bouncer. She was only 16 but could pass for 18 if someone just glanced at her. Besides, they didn't really check stuff like that at these places, as long as they got your money.
She sat down at the bar and ordered a drink, her New Zealand accent shining through. Another reason she came here was that most cops probably wouldn't think to look for a sixteen year old girl in a bar in some small town like this. She knew her parents would have sent missing posters over the world. They certaintly had enough money. But she wouldn't go back. Couldn't. It wasn't that she was just unhappy. But no one knew about her dad. No one believed her. Of course, no one would want to believe that the man who supported their companies, who gave huge donations to some charitable organisation each year, would do such horrible things to his teenage daughter. She tried to tell them, she tried, but they just crossed her off as a troubled youth. They sent her to a counciler. He didn't believe her either. Just passed off her accusations as dillusions that had come about from having to blame someone for being bullied so much a a child. So she finally packed up, took a wad of money, bought a plane ticket and now here she was.
Alyss gulped down her drink and orderd another, hoping to lose herself in them.
