He nodded quietly as she asked him to come inside. He couldn't be angry as he looked upon her in the state she was in. He felt bad that he'd come to find her like this, and wished he could help her. Maybe if he listened to her speak then he could learn if he could help her. Either way, he wanted to make sure she was ok, and she looked as though she needed rest since she'd almost fallen just a short while ago. He smiled very faintly as the child looked at him with big curious eyes. It was good to see that she wasn't crying anymore.
"I know we have a lot to talk about..." he said quietly. He hadn't been mad at her this whole time, just mad at the situation and it seemed that he'd been mad at her which he hadn't wanted at all. He still loved her and always would. |

Asami walked to the house,sitting carefully on the leather couch,wincing as the bruise pushed against the armrest.She rocked Jade gently,avoiding Jake's eyes for a moment.Jake...This is Jade.She gulped uneasily.My daughter,and the father..is..She pushed tears back again.Wesley,she whispered hoarsly.Suddenly it all came.Jake,I'm sorry,I didn't even ask if you were mad at me..I just took a guess,it was stupid,I was dumb that day,I ran away,life didn't treat me the way I wanted to,and,and,Jake it hurts.She blurted the first part,and her voice quieted to a whisper barley loud enough to here as she said it hurt and gingerly touched her side. |

Jake went into the house with her and set himself in the chair across from her. He didn't know if she'd be comfortable sitting next to him or not so he gave her some room as she held her child, avoiding his eyes for a long, uneasy moment. Jake swallowed his shock and disappointment that it had been Jake. He knew that Asami had not chosen this. She was smarter then to ever be anything with that asshole, but he was still hurt to hear this news. "She's... gorgeous. Looks just like you..." Jake said quietly.
She began to blurt everything out at light speed. Luckily, he talked fast like that and was able to understand most of what she said, except for that last part. He couldn't let her sit over their and blurt all that out without knowing that he wasn't mad at her. He carefully moved over to the couch and sat beside her. "Asami, we all make choices we end up calling mistakes later in life, but I understand that you were worried. I should have tried harder to explain that I wasn't mad at you. But i couldn't help it. That.... man Wesley has no right to treat you as he did, and it bothered me that I couldn't do anything to help you. I could never be made at you.... I --" He wanted to tell her he loved her. That he loved her with all his heart and he'd do anything to help her out.
"I'm so sorry that you went through all this. I could never be mad at you, even if I wanted to be mad at you. You're so important to me... And now, even Jade is." he said quietly, looking at the small girl who looked so much like her beautiful mother. He gently touched her tiny hands with his fingers. |

Asami was shocked by his responce,but her expression remained solem and calm.She made no move to get away,if not get closer,when he sat next her.She smiled softly and looked up,sighing,pain near exploded in her side,she winced sharply,but let it barley show.Do you want anything to drink?She asked standing.Suddenly her old self again.Don't be shy,you can hold her if you want.Asami laughed lightly. |

He was glad that she didn't get up and move away just as he sat down. That would have crushed him, luckily she stayed in place, if not have moved closer a bit. He wasn't paying too much attention to detail at the moment. He looked at her as she asked if he wanted anything to drink. "Not if you don't. I don't want to make you get anything." he said quietly.
He was caught off guard then as she said that he could hold her. He smiled very faintly and held jade in his arms, cradling her head and being as gentle as humanly possible. He didn't want to hurt her or scare her. She was such a beautiful girl just like her mother was. Her eyes just as gorgeous as her mother's were and everything about her was just perfect. He played with her little fingers lovingly, and she grabbed a hold of them. Jake smiled a bit, and it was probably the first real smile he'd showed on his features in quite some time. He felt whole again, instead of always missing Asami. |

Asami smiled softly and walked into the huge country kitchen.She tipped the picture and poured the icey water into two glasses.She walked back and sat them down.You seem happier.Asami said,it was less a question,more a comment.She watched as Jade seemingly got along great with Jake.Asami returned to her seat beside him.Jake was a good friend..Or was he more? |

"Yeah. I am glad I got to see you again. I worried when you left Asami... You were just up and out before I got a chance to talk with you." he said, looking up at her as he held Jade in his arms. He didn't get a chance to try and get her to come home again or even talk to her before she left. It had been sudden and it just hurt him to think that she thought he'd been mad at her. That was a horrible reason to leave. |

Asami nodded quietly.She bit her lip,an intense moment settled over her,she turned her attention back to Jade as the baby silently fell into a deep,dreamless sleep.Asami thought she could possibly do just the same,but,it would be rude to even let sleep cross her mind with anything over.With Jake over.I'm sorry Jake...I-I..I never meant to hurt you. |

"It's alright Asami. Don't apologize. I am just glad to be with you now. I know you're ok." he said quietly, looking at her with his deep, loving eyes. He had wanted to know if she was alright, and despite a few things that he'd noticed, like the pain in her side and that she seemed weak, she was alright, and her baby seemed fine too. Perfectly content really, laying there sleeping in his arms. He didn't want to move her, but he couldn't hold her too long. He'd get attached to the baby and he'd never want to leave. That would be bad on his part. "I hate to ask this, because it seems sort of personal... but has Wesley been over recently?" he asked quietly as to not disturb Jade. |

"Just wondering. I know how he treated you before is all --" he said quietly. His train of thought going almost unfinished. He didn't have anything really to say, other then that he cared about her and wished her care be ready for her whenever she needed even the smallest bit of help. He shrugged it off. "It's an impulse. A random and strong acting impulse, but it gets the best of us." he said looking at her as she gently brushed her hand over Jade's forehead. "I'm sorry this is all kind of weird. I just saw you and it was a shock." he said as the awkward silence filled the empty space that had grown between the two of them. It had been a while since he'd last seen her and he didn't know what to talk about. |

I know...Same here.Asami smiled.I couldn't believe it was you,I was so scared you'd still be mad,or had you even been mad,all these questions just flooded me and she pushed me into a state of shock.Asami tryed to explain,she pushed a hand through her hair,feeling it part,and roll over her shoulders lightly. |

At first I was like, that can't be her, and then you realized who I was, and I was relieved that I didn't look stupid by thinking you were someone else." he said with a soft laugh as he looked down at Jade for a second and back over to Asami. He'd missed her so much. She was one of his best friends, and even more to him but he didn't know if she felt the same. |

Asami smiled,nodding.The infant in Jake's arms lay still in sleep,breathing easily.She watched silently.Remember the lullaby?When you stayed over at my house,my mom would sing."All The Pretty Little Horses"?Asami asked,looked up to meet his eyes.

comments;; not a problem. bring her in. and I don't think I've heard that one. my 'rents didn't sing me lullabys when I was little.
"Yeah I remember. It was my favorite of all time. My parents didn't sing anything to me, so I loved your mom. She was so awesome." he said with a soft smile as he tried to remember the lyrics to the song. He started to sing quietly, making the words slow enough that Asami could join in so he didn't sound suckish by himself. He'd never thought he was a good singer, although he had been in choir all through his school years. He joined at the age of 9 and stayed in it until he senior year. He loved choir, but thought he had no singing skills. He loved that little lullaby so much and wished his parents could have been as loving as asami's. Either way, it wasgreat goriwng up with her as such a close friend.
