"Four years." Lynn said, looking toward the six year old mustang. "I got him off the BLM auctions at two." She said, flipping over his mane to reveal the white burn mark that read B,L,M. The mustang bowed his head and lipped at the sprouting grass.

Bryce nodded slightly, not knowing if he was free to move or not. The dog still appeared to be checking him out, and the other had ceased growling but still eyed him carefully. He took another long drag off the cigarette and held the smoke in for a moment, before letting it escape in a few rings. Then he breathed the rest out and it was swept away by a chilling breeze that rushed over the grounds. "Is she like, going to gnaw my leg off of something?" he asked with a soft laugh, looking at the dog that still stood at his feet.
His deep green eyes watched as she spoke of getting the horse when he was younger at an auction. He didn't know what the BLM stood for, but he nodded as if he understood. All he needed to know was that the horse was bought from an auction at two. He watched as she revealed the burn just under the horse's mane that proved he had once been there. "I've never actually had a horse of my own, but that's cool you do. I got to go up to my grandpa's farm when I was younger and he owned a retired race horse. Pretty cool, but I only ever got to ride him a few times." there, the words were truthful. One of the few times that Bryce was ever truthful was right there. The words flowed flawlessly off his tongue and were somewhat random, but he hadn't known what else to say.

She could tell he didn't know what the BLM was, and a smile played on her lips. "BLM, Bureau of Land Management," She said, as most of her horses were adopted from the BLM. "The BLM has tons of acers where they let wild horses roam free. Starstruck was one of them until the age of two when he was rounded up and brought to auction to avoid mustangs overtaking the land." Lynn said, laughing. "If you give her the chance, Dix might." Lynn said with a smile.
"I had a Thoroughbred called Shadow Lue." She said, recalling the gray ex-racer. She had given the talented jumper to her friend.

"Haha, thanks for clearing that up. Makes a lot more sense now." he said, a small but honest smile stretching his lips a bit, and curling them upward. Now he understood was the BLM was and it made the conversation easier to understand. He honestly wasn't all that into horses because he hadn't yet found a place where he felt comfortable settling down. He removed the cigarette from his lips and held it between his fingers. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as she answered his question. "Well uh, as cute as is, I'd prefer to keep my leg." he said as he shifted his feet slightly so he was standing a bit different instead of as he was before.
"Ahh, that's cool. I think if I had a choice, I would choose a Frisian. I don't really know why, but I like them a lot and they are great to watch when they jump. I had always wanted to learn how to jump." he said, honest words falling from his lips once more.

"My friend jumps.Mia." She said, thinking about the brunett haired, blue eyed girl whom owned and competed with Shadow Lue in Grand Prix and Preliminary Combined Training. The gray horse was and is a fabulous jumper with the speed and endurance to be bold and brave on the Cross Country, graceful and elegant of the Dressage, and full of raw power on the Show Jumping. "Shadow took her far, now they're competeing at the highest levels there are, they even qualified for Rolex."

"Wow... I'm just the odd one out then. I don't own a horse, which means I don't ride, unless you’re speaking of a motorcycle, and I definitely don't jump." he said with a soft laugh. It wasn't really uncommon for him to be the odd one out. He always was in high school and when he was younger, so why mess up the pattern? He could just be the odd one for life, and it wouldn’t exactly bother him either.

A thought travled to Lynn's head. Should she be oh so generous to a stranger? She grimanced for a minute, brow furrowed. Ah, what the heck. Though, if he hurt Wish, he would be gone, and she would take the mare back. She gave a whistle, the sound of metal clanking against concret was heard. And out loped a creamy mare, crystal blue eyes inquiring and sweet. She slowed as Starstruck nipped her gently. He obviously wasn't to sure about stranger, and felt as though he should show his run and by nipping the mare.
"Star.." Lynn cooed, and pushed his head away, and the cremello walked toward Bryce. "You have a horse now." Lynn said with a somewhat shy smile. "Follow me."

Bryce looked up a bit as she whistled and the sounds of metal moving against the concrete were heard. His deep green eyes watching wonderingly as he saw the creamy colored mare move into his sight. He looked at the stallion as he nipped the mare, and Amberlynn pushed him away a bit. The horse moved toward Bryce and he moved his gaze from Amberlynn to the mare. His hands were offered to the creature as he gently stroked her muzzle with a few fingers. A small, but surely genuine smile crossed the rough face of the male.
He looked up as she said that. "You don't have to do this..." he said in quiet tones as the smile slipped from his face. He dropped his hands a bit, slipping his fingers into his pockets. Hell, when the night was young she had made it clear that she wasn't going to allow him to stay with her, and now she did this... Did he do or say something that changed her first opinion about him? He did as she said though and followed her a bit, kind of reluctantly because she didn't have to do this. A small smile showed on his features as he looked at her, his green eyes casting a friendly glance in her direction to see if she was for real.

"You need a friend." Lynn said, eyes glistening. She caught his look. "Yes, I'm not faking it." Lynn said with a laugh. "Follow me." She walked to the barn, heads thrusted over stall doors and whinnies erupted. SHe entered the office, looking back to make sure he was following. Star was grazing contently on a patch of grass, while Wish followed Bryce.
Fishing through a stack of papers, Lynn pulled out a file. The cover read, "Wish Again." Lynn handed him the file, he would need it for future reference. "This has her Coggins, which shows and help issues or injuries, her previous vet records. She's up to date on all shots, last trimming was two weeks ago, has her Bill of Sale, Pedigree, everything you'll need, including her Registration papers."Lynn said, running through the papers in the file. "Your mare is called ,Wish Again, or Wish, she's an eight year old Quarter Horse mare, 15.2 hands high, easy on the eyes, and a baby could ride 'er." Lynn said with a grin. Wish was currently nudging Bryce's shoulder for any treats. Lynn moved beside her desk and retrieved two apple flavored squares, she walked by Bryce, bumping him purposly and dropping the treats into his pocket. Wish immediatly went to snuffle the pocket.

He laughed softly as she said that he needed a friend. That was probably true, but he didn't know anyone that would actually want to be his friend. Not if they knew him really well. "Alright... well, if you insist." he said quietly, still making sure she knew she didn't have to do anything of this nature. He didn't really deserve this kind of generosity. His green eyes watched her as she looked back to make sure he was following. He was, just at a slow pace. He reached the office and stood in the frame of the door, allowing his hands to press against the sides and he looked back as the creamy colored mare followed him. He smiled slightly and stroked her gently.
Bryce listened quietly as she listed off all of the papers that were held within the folder. All contained valuable information that he would need to know for the future or present time period. He smiled slightly as she explained the breed and color and age of his mare. She specifically emphasized that she was indeed his. He chuckled, the smile remaining on his features as he turned his eyes to the mare as she nudged him. He didn't have anything with him, but she insisted on looking. "I don't have anythi--" he started to speak before Amberlynn bumped into him. Wish immediately let her nose come to his pockets and he grinned. "Well look at that... I think the snack fairy came by." he spoke calmly and pulled the squares from his pocket to give them to Wish. His hands were gentle when he touched the mare, and some would think it was impossible for him to be gentle... He was gentle when he was in a good mood, and right now he definitely was.

Lynn giggled at his comment, and walked to Mirage's stall. The blue roan whinnied, Valliant, the wild colt next to her lunged out at Lynn. "Yeah, yeah, cool your jets buckaroo. Your next." Lynn said, shooting the colt a look. She led Mirage out and released her in a paddok, after a small hassle, she let Valliant out with her.
Wish lipped the treats up in a heartbeat, and bumped his shoulder, anticipiating more.

She took the treats as if there were no second chance and he smiled slightly as once again she nudged him, hoping for more. He shook his head as the smile remained on his features. Gentle hands rose to stroke her face. "I have no more; you'll have to go speak with the snack fairy." he said as he looked over to Amberlynn as she lead another horse and a foal out into the paddock. "You fed her addiction, Wish here is a treataholic." he said with a small smile, knowing probably that they all were to some extent. Treats were always the best kind of food.
